The Best Places to Store Your E-Bike
Whether you are storing your e-bike for a few hours, the night, or the entire winter, choosing the right place is crucial. If you store your e-bike in the wrong place, it can get damaged.
E-bikes should be stored indoors, in a cool, dry place. Remove the battery and store it separately for long-term and outdoor storage. Keep it partially charged and recharge it every few months. Cover your bike with a plastic cover if you need to store it outdoors.
Where Should You Not Store an E-Bike?
A place with a lot of humidity is a bad place to store an e-bike. You should not store your e-bike in the basement if it is humid and moist, especially for long periods of time.
Do not store your e-bike in a place that might flood. When your garage is prone to flooding and you don't have any other place to store your e-bike, consider placing it on a high shelf or rack so that it won't be damaged by water.
Temperature changes or high temperatures are also not good for an e-bike. You should keep it in a cool place instead - this is especially important for the battery. Try to store your e-bike, or at least its battery, in a room that has a constant temperature of around 20 degrees Celsius (68 degrees Fahrenheit).
Do not store your e-bike in a room that is too cold, however. Anything below freezing, which is 0 degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit), should always be avoided. Not only is heat bad for your e-bike, but extreme cold is too. Ideally, you should not go below 40 degrees Fahrenheit (4.4 degrees Celsius).
